Heron Design House is a full-service interior design studio led by a mother-daughter duo known for our artful eye and adaptable aesthetic. We view design as a highly personal investment in our clients’ quality of life, laying the foundation for our connected and client-centered process.
We work closely with value-aligned clients in and around Atlanta, Georgia, designing and reimagining homes that feel inspired and artful without sacrificing comfort or the authenticity born of patient curation. Each space we design is a composition in its own right, full of interest, contrast, and life.

SAVANNAH STARK
Co-Principal + Lead Designer
Savannah’s introduction to design began as a child in her mother’s art room, where observation shaped a formidable understanding of how spaces and objects can influence the way we feel. As an adult, she began her career in the world of software startups, developing a new skill set grounded in organization, intuition, and the ability to manage complexity with ease—an approach that now underpins her work in design. Over several years working closely with Andrea, exposure and instinct—coupled with her own experiences—evolved into a trained eye through hands-on experience with materials, sourcing, and the thoughtful layering of a space. Today, Savannah leads projects with a balance of youthful creativity and structure, ensuring each detail is carefully considered while the overall experience remains seamless and engaging. She continues to draw inspiration from travel, music, and everyday life with her husband, Will, and their dog, Nugget.
ANDREA COSTA-PIERCE
Co-Principal + Senior Designer
Like Savannah, Andrea’s appreciation for beauty began at home, shaped by a father who built houses and a mother with a natural artistic eye. Those early experiences naturally led her to establish her own design firm, while also developing a dedicated painting practice. As her daughters grew, Andrea's focus shifted toward art. Over the course of a decade, A. Costa Studio grew steadily, with her paintings featured in galleries throughout the Southeast and in publications including Atlanta Homes, Ballard Designs, Traditional Home, and Luxe Interiors. Though the studio offered a more solitary rhythm, she was drawn back to the collaborative energy of working closely with clients—something she rediscovered while renovating and selling her own homes. Today, Andrea brings an artist’s perspective to each project, pairing design expertise with a deeply personal approach to creating spaces that feel timeless yet entirely individual. Today, she continues to paint and support the studio's work from her home at the lake with her husband, Jeff.
